Indonesia Horticulture Festival 2011 is a national horticultural exhibition of an international nature, the result of the synergy between three major events in Denpasar, Bali: National Flora Week 2011, Denpasar Horticulture Festival 2011 and Sanur Village Festival 2011, all located on one massive exhibition ground.
National Flora Week 2011 is a national horticultural exhibition of an international nature held routinely in important regencies and cities in Indonesia. Bali has the honour of hosting the 4th festival to be held this year. This festival will involve 33 provinces in Indonesia, national and international business people from the horticultural sector, as well as leading agriculture academics. The event is also particularly special because it will take place together with Denpasar Horticulture Festival 2011 as well as Sanur Village Festival 2011. Denpasar Festival is an annual programme of the Denpasar Government to promote the city as a tourism destination, expose unique and outstanding products, art-forms, as well as the creativity of the people of Denpasar. Sanur Village Festival is a local Sanur community event that has made waves internationally and become an annual calendar event since 2006. The synergy of these three events has become Indonesia Horticulture Festival 2011, a national-scale event which, in terms of promotion, products, business, exhibition participants and visitors, is of international quality.
National Flora Week Bali 2011 is also special because horticulture is one of the sectors that may be supported to reach the Millenium Development Goals proclaimed by United Nations to create a better life for human beings. This international-standard national event is an apt time to promote Indonesian horticulture as an icon of national pride. Our archipelago of islands rich in a wide variety of horticultural products has become an Indonesian asset that contributes to all aspects contained in these Millenium Development Goals, including using good horticultural cultivation practices to ensure harvesting, harvest safety, biopharmaceutical health, environmental resource conservation; opening job and business opportunities for stakeholders with interests in the horticultural sector or its offshoots.
National Flora Week is a meeting point for producers, business people, researchers, plant and flowers lovers, and general visitors to share information and do business. Horticulture lovers as well as the general public will also have an opportunity to spoil themselves with unique and beautiful horticultural products. Business people and producers will find it easy to carry out transactions with national and international associates who will take part in the festival. Researchers, academics and students will be able to take advantage of this huge event to expand their knowledge and obtain the latest information about the developments in horticultural products and technology.
Naturally, it is envisaged that an event like Indonesia Horticulture Festival 2011 – combining National Flora Week Bali, Denpasar Horticulture Festival and Sanur Village Festival – will attract not only local visitors but also people from across the globe.
